Here are the devices / automations I’ve created for our home. I run Home Assistant in a Proxmox virtual environment to bring all of these devices together. (More details coming soon)
Smarthome
Zigbee2MQTT flash on CC2531 chip
These CC2531 chips are very inexpensive (As little as $4 in pre-pandemic times) and can be flashed with custom firmware to add Zigbee support to Home Assistant for cheap. Just need a few jumper cables and a Raspberry Pi running Rasbian.
OpenSonoff Powerstrip
A 3D printed enclosure for a Sonoff wifi relay flashed with Tasmota and wired up to a standard outlet.
